I-N-D-I-A

From being an Indian to an NRI to now a PIO… Even then…still…

  • I get goosebumps every single time when I hear ‘Vande Mataram’ by A R Rahman…
  • My eyes turn moist every single time I hear the Indian national anthem being played…
  • Every time I see the colours saffron, white and green anywhere, in any order…like an involuntary thought process…the mind rearranges them to make the Indian flag…
  • My heart wrenches at the thought of some atrocities that India goes through…
  • I get angry when I see the most people in power not doing enough for the people…for the masses…
  • I hope and pray I get a chance to use this life to make a positive difference

58th year and there’s still so much work to be done…
I dream…I hope…for a better India every passing day…

Here’s the Vision 2020 that HH APJ Abdul Kalam has written…

Song Of Youth
As a young citizen of India, armed with technology, knowledge and love for my nation, I realize, small aim is a crime.
I will work and sweat for a great vision, the vision of transforming India into a developed nation, powered by economic strength with value system
I am one of the citizens of the billion; Only the vision will ignite the billion souls.
It has entered into me ; The ignited soul compared to any resource is the most powerful resource on the earth, above the earth and under the earth.
I will keep the lamp of knowledge burning to achieve the vision – Developed India
If we work and sweat for the great vision with ignited minds, the transformation leading to the birth of vibrant developed India will happen.
I pray the Almighty: “May the divine peace with beauty enter into our people; Happiness and good health blossom in our bodies, minds and souls”.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Rise, my beloved Country…RISE!!!

Happy Republic Day!

“Civilizations have arisen in other parts of the world. In ancient and modern times, wonderful ideas have been carried forward from one race to another…But mark you, my friends, it has been always with the blast of war trumpets and the march of embattled cohorts. Each idea had to be soaked in a deluge of blood….. Each word of power had to be followed by the groans of millions, by the wails of orphans, by the tears of widows. This, many other nations have taught; but India for thousands of years peacefully existed. Here activity prevailed when even Greece did not exist… Even earlier, when history has no record, and tradition dares not peer into the gloom of that intense past, even from until now, ideas after ideas have marched out from her, but every word has been spoken with a blessing behind it and peace before it. We, of all nations of the world, have never been a conquering race, and that blessing is on our head, and therefore we live….” ~Swami Vivekananda

  1. Happy Republic Day to you too!!Yea, A R Rehman’s Vande Mataram is the best I have heard too. We also played that in our Republic Day party with video, which was made appropriately by Bala Productions. I have read this poem by APJ Abdul Kalam. By the way, did you sign the petition for President Kalam to get an extension as he is due to retire this year. I will send you the link. Nice post 🙂
