The year of 2009 is coming to an end super quickly but I also realize its a little too early to write an ode to 2009.
I came across quite a wide variety of people this year and things they’ve expressed have been interesting to say the least. It is always amazing to find out what makes others ‘click’ or rather what makes others speak out and stand for something they truly believe in.
Issues like abortion, LGBT, violent video games, world hunger and what not. It is definitely gratifying to know that there are people who are willing to take their time and deal with these issues. I realize there are quite a few issues that I do not have an opinion or a stand on. I truly don’t know where I stand on some of ’em. But then again, I think: Do I need to have an opinion about it? Is being neutral justified? Some lingering questions at the back of my mind for sure.
My field of study has drastically changed but I find myself quite interested in the new field too. So, the other thing that’s been playing on my mind is organ donation. I had been talking to a few people who already have signed up to donate and it is something I definitely am considering. For some it may be big deal, for some not. People have signed up to donate their eyes, kidneys, bone-marrow, what not. I need to go into more details about the whole thing and get more information. But it is definitely something that’s been playing at the back of my mind.
